Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
1 pint fresh blueberries
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups heavy cream, whipped
1 (12-ounce) pound cake, cut into 1/2-inch slices

Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, lemon juice, and vanilla extract over medium heat. Cook until the sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and let cool.
In a large bowl, combine the strawberries and blueberries. Pour the cooled syrup over the berries and toss to coat.
In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add in the sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
In another bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
To assemble the trifle, arrange a layer of pound cake in the bottom of a large glass bowl. Spoon a layer of the berry mixture over the cake. Pour a layer of the cream cheese mixture over the berries. Repeat with the remaining ingredients, ending with the cream cheese mixture.
Cover and refrigerate the trifle for at least 1 hour before serving.

1 lb chicken breast
